No-Cut LASEK involves gently moving the surface skin of the cornea and applying the laser to reshape the outer cornea. PRK differs in that the surface skin is removed after the laser is applied and new surface skin grows back in a few days.

No-Cut LASEK as an alternative to LASIK for select patients who are not comfortable with or are non-candidates for LASIK. No-Cut LASEK does not require the creation of a flap; a solution is applied to the eye and the laser is applied to the surface of the cornea after to reshape it. The surface skin is repositioned over the treated area and allowed to bond back in position. The visual results of No-Cut LASEK are similar to LASIK however, vision can be slower to recover. This 5-10 minute procedure is typically painless and can treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
