Benefits of Fortified LASIK®

Fortified LASIK in Los Angeles

LASIK is a very safe procedure. However, some prospective patients are concerned about potential complications of refractive surgery, and opt out entirely. That is understandable — your vision is nothing to mess around with! Fortunately, Dr. Brian has developed Fortified LASIK, a form of the procedure that is even safer, in turn giving patients the confidence to finally pull the trigger.

Benefits of Fortified LASIK include:

Improved Eyesight

Lets not skip over Fortified LASIKs top selling point: it can do wonders for your vision. Whether you have problems seeing objects close up, far away or at any distance, LASIK is highly effective at sharpening your acuity and allowing you to navigate the world without having to rely on eyeglasses or contacts.

Dr. Brian also has abundant confidence in Fortified LASIKs ability to treat astigmatism, so if thats a problem you are dealing with, you have come to the right place.

Two Procedures in One

Fortified LASIK artfully combines a traditional LASIK treatment with Holcomb C3-R®, a cross-linking procedure Dr. Brian created two decades ago to boost corneal strength. In a nutshell, Holcomb C3-R utilizes UV light and a Vitamin B2-based formulation to bolster your cornea. Who doesnt love a 2-for-1 deal?

It Mitigates Normal LASIK Risks

Because LASIK can weaken your eye by cutting a flap on the surface of the cornea, it can lead to potential complications like keratoconus which causes the cornea to bulge and can wreak havoc on your vision. By receiving Holcomb C3-R in conjunction with LASIK, the strengthened cornea can be at significantly reduced risk of developing keratoconus, ectasia or other associated complications.

By having confidence that the risks are extremely low, you can be better able to avoid the anxiety that can accompany a procedure like LASIK.

Having a Doctor at the Top of His Field

While this reason could rightly apply to any procedure Dr. Brian offers, it is certainly a perk to know that you are receiving Fortified LASIK from an esteemed, Ivy League-educated ophthalmologist who has been published in dozens of medical journals. Dr. Brian is known as a The Surgeons Surgeon” because other eye doctors come to him for treatment. If they trust their eyes to him, you know you can do the same.

A BRIEF NOTE ABOUT DR. BRIAN

Throughout his highly respected career, cornea specialist Dr. Brian has never wavered with his integrity and dedication to always do the best for each and every patient - even in the face of adversity and peer pressure. Case in point: when he developed a procedure to treat a cornea condition known as Keratoconus. While other eye surgeons were entrenched in performing invasive and painful cornea transplants, Dr. Brian invented a new non-invasive procedure that prevented needing cornea transplants. He was shocked by the medical establishment being unwelcoming to his innovation because, as he later found out, his new procedure was preventing other eye surgeons from performing their lucrative cornea transplants. Dr. Brian persisted, went against the grain and didn’t give up because he believed in himself and in his procedure as it was in the best interest of patients. Eventually, he crossed paths with U.S. Olympic bobsled driver Steven Holcomb who had Keratoconus and became so depressed over it that he tried to commit suicide. Luckily, he survived. The United States Olympic team and his coaches found Dr. Brian and sent Steven to see him. Dr. Brian restored his vision to 20/20 which enabled Steven later win a historic Olympic gold medal for United States in bobsled - the first in 62 years! As a result, Dr. Brian was later invited to give a prestigious TEDx talk about his integrity and dedication to patients. You can watch his moving and inspiring TEDx talk here.
